To establish a consistent and reliable process for student ID management..
Description
This procedure is designed to maintain consistent management of student IDs at the elementary level.

Who’s Responsible

Students must have a current ID to board school buses and receive transportation services..
Building Administration

If a student does not have an ID, e.g. they left their backpack at home with the ID attached:

The student will have the opportunity to produce the ID the following day.
The Bus Driver will look up the student and provide transportation.
The bus driver will submit a Bus Referral to the building administration.
Each instance should be entered into the Minor Behavior tab.

After the third Bus Referral, administration will contact the parents/guardians to let them know they will be charged $3.00 for a new ID.
Bus Referral counts will reset each quarter.

If a student refuses to swipe on or off the bus, administration should be called to address the behavior:

Refusal to swipe on or off the bus is considered insubordination.
Students will receive consequences consistent with progressive discipline.

Refusal to provide a name for transportation purposes is considered insubordination.
Students will receive consequences consistent with progressive discipline.

If a student habitually refuses to swipe on or off the bus or habitually refuses to provide their name for transportation purposes, students will receive progressive discipline including suspension from transportation services.
