Purpose
To provide a clear and structured process for the ClassDojo point system and rostering students and parents to ClassDojo in the beginning of the year as well as when students arrive or leave a school during the year.
Scope
This SOP applies to all elementary/Pre-K schools within Round Lake Area Schools CUSD 116 that use ClassDojo.
Responsibilities
Office Staff: Individuals responsible for rostering all students into classes and archiving or graduating classes, as well as new students into class or removing students who leave during the school year.
School leaders: Ensure “points” are standard between schools.
Additional Considerations
Office staff will roster new students
- Office staff will roster new students into classes when they register or transfer
- Staff will give parents a QR code when they register their student or on the first day of classes.
Add office staff as administrators
- Office staff will be added as school leaders in order to add new students and parents to classes.
Removing families
- Office staff will remove students that transfer or leave the district during the year.
- Office staff will do this when they complete the student transfer paperwork.
Steps
Class Dojo Rostering Procedure

Add Students Into ClassDojo
Teachers will upload their class list into Dojo
- Teachers will roster students into their class over the first Teacher Institute Days of each school year

Add Parents Into ClassDojo
Teachers will add parents to their class
- Teachers will give parents unique QR codes at meet and greets.
- Teachers will send home codes in backpacks for parents who were not at meet and greets.
- Each parent will be given the unique QR code for their student.

Archive Classes at the End of the Year
- Teachers will archive their class as part of their end-of-year check out procedures.

Graduate Classes at 2nd or 5th grade
End-of-year checkout
- Teachers at K-2 elementary schools will graduate second grade classes to remove students from the school.
- Teachers at 3-5 elementary schools or Ellis elementary will graduate fifth grade classes to remove students from the school.

Keeping Points Standard
Establishing point values
- Principals across elementary schools will not make any point category worth more than 3 points.
- Principals may have different categories based on focus areas but any one category should not exceed 3 points.
